Band Baja Baraat

Band Baja Baraat, movie which was released in 2010, gave a brand new definition to wedding plannings in India. It inspired the youth to start their own wedding planning companies and make weddings memorable for the couple. I too was a part of the same. As shown in the movie, the leading lady makes her own craftbook where she creates different themes for the various wedding functions. A friend of mine also motivated me to do the same, while I was working with a NGO. I started doing it, I made a book, but was scared to show it to anyone. I left the NGO to work on this new inspiration, but all of a sudden got an offer from BMW, and I got excited and decided to join it. April 2011, I joined BMW. Gradually, I realized this is not my zone, this is not what I want to do. And then in August my dad who owns a catering company, got a contract for doing a wedding, which included not only catering, but each and everything, as the clients were from Mumbai, who chose Jaipur as the destination. So we had just 2 months, to organize everything. My dad took catering in his hands and rest all work came into my lap. We chose the venue for the wedding. Then did arrangements for the outstation guests- hotels, taxis, security, etc. We had the responsibility to chose the favors to be given to the guests too. We did all the local vendors arrangement for the priest, decoration, pick up facility from airport and station. Music arrangements for the wedding day, salon arrangement for the ladies. Small things required during the engagement like dry-fruits packs, sweets, fruits, gifts, etc. all were arranged and packed. Luckily we arranged the weddings just in style. Few guest asked who was the wedding planner, give us their numbers, so that we can ask them to do weddings at our home too. That really gave me a boost to start this work professionally. Sharing few pictures of the wedding.
I wish them both a very happy married life.. Happy Wedding!
